THE PERSON

My name is Judith Michel-Ehrsam. I am a business administration specialist, economist, coach, mediator, mentor, advisory board member – headhunter, consultant, sparring partner, listener, superior, confidante, philanthropist – wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, “cat mum” – athlete and adventurer – connoisseur with passion and spirituality. I am certainly different – and, in that, certain of my differences

I want to take on these challenges by being what I am:
laughing – sailing – dutifully serving
In the right doses, I take responsibility for your trust!
Laughing | Anyone who has felt so much pain in life that their eyebrows have fallen out has to come a long road. That's how I learned how important health and joy are. A positive attitude to life and laughing keep you healthy. | And I go one step further: It is a special concern of mine to playfully convey aspects for a changed attitude in business and everyday life - workshops garnished with serious content and laughter.
Sailing | Not just personal enthusiasm, but analogies for life and work: leadership topics and teambuilding, decision-making and motivation, chance competence, self-control, closeness to nature and humility before its beauty and also its forces, and not to forget the sporting aspect - to name but a few. | This is how I am and how I act in order to achieve my goals and those of my clients.
Dutifully serving | The basis of my motivation and success. | Only when I fully committed with my counterpart, when myself is not important, but rather bring in my full experience in an unbiased, grateful and humble way, do I can draw upon the full resources available and improve the situation. | This is how I improve other people’s lives and at the same time serve my own life.
Today I know that it is only in rough seas that it becomes clear who is acting with foresight, who can truly stay the course and arrive safely at the destination.

The crises and developments that I have experienced on my path, as well as the expertise that I have gained from them, are what I will weigh in for you today.

CHARACTERISTIC EVENTS

Already in primary school I was excluded from the class community due to obesity and life-threatening allergies – but without becoming an outsider. Even then, I had the ability to recognise the needs and motivations of individuals and to use these to support my classmates. In that way, I gained their recognition. This gift enables me to identify the needs of the people I am talking with, to ask about their wishes and search profiles, and to optimise them for the best result
The bitter fact of not being able to achieve my dream career as a doctor due to health reasons gave me the insight that my goal of being able to make a difference to and for people has nothing to do with my choice of profession, but with my personality. This is how I find the right people today – the right personalities – and not just any “position-holders”.
The painful failure of my first marriage showed me that, among other things, despite an emotionally stressful situation, I can maintain a neutral attitude and take a human approach, with positive results for everyone involved. With this ability, I can build empathetic yet rational bridges between clients and managers – in any situation.
In hindsight, I can draw positive conclusions from the loss of my much-desired child: I was ready and confident to accept help. I became aware of the value of sensitive and professional advice. In the selection process for clients and managers, I not only employ awareness in every communication, but also the tools from the resulting coaching training.
The bitter truth that I myself had to take responsibility for an emergency surgery to place an implant on the cervical spine taught me two things: how important it is to recognise warning signals at an early stage – and to carefully handle all resources in order to achieve long-term and healthy growth. This is also a metaphor for companies. With this background, I locate personalities who will enable companies and people with this awareness to achieve the extraordinary and lead them to success.
My enthusiasm for sailing stems from very different like insights. I developed a good sense for the type and importance of cooperation within a team, namely the crew – an interdisciplinary effort, with a skipper. Dealing with an unpredictable, changing course and, if necessary, accepting the need for a detour is subject to the whims of nature and to safety considerations. Everyone pulls together to achieve the goal. Among other things, I developed a sensitivity for interdependence, for incorporating all parameters on the path to filling a position, and to act accordingly. In addition, I honed my competence in recognising people’s individual abilities, using them accordingly and motivating people.
If you want to build a ship, don’t put together a bunch of men to gather wood, assign tasks and divide up the work, but rather teach them to long for the vast, endless sea.
